[californiadisasters] South Ops News & Notes Update (9/15/10-5:30PM)

6136 acres, 50% contained, 250 structures are threatened, 1 structure destroyed. An evacuation center has been established at the Kern River Valley Veteran's/Senior Center. Evacuations remain in effect for the area of Meyer's Canyon south of Bodfish Canyon Rd. at Junction of Rocky Rd.  Advisory evacuations are in place from Meyer's Canyon north in the community of Havala. SCE is currently working to restore power to the damaged electrical transmission line and the community of Havala.  A Public information meeting @ Lake Isabella Senior Center 19:00 tonight.

An incident complexity analysis has been completed with SQF NF placing a request for a Type 1 IMT to report the Canyon Incident. The request has been placed for SOCAL Team #4 (Opliger)

Canyon Fire is still holding at 6,100 acres and is 20% contained.  Fire activity continues on the east side of the fire.
