Congratulations to the VVHS Winterguard for placing second in their division at the Winterguard Invitational this past Saturday at Manzano High School. Way to go Vanguard Color Guard!
Yearbooks are on sale in the Activities Office during lunch for $65.00 until April 20th. From April 24th books will be $70.00. Remember we sold out last year. Distribution will be on Tuesday April 24th to the seniors during the senior picnic and to the underclassmen on April 25th during lunch. You must have your student ID to pick up your yearbook.

All candidates for the Spanish National Honor Society meet TODAY at lunch in E112. You must stop by if you plan to plan to accept your nomination. The meeting is required for all candidates who wish to be inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society.

The Geo/Astro teachers are excited to host The Albuquerque Astronomical Society's Star Party at our school in 2 weeks! This event will run from 7:30-9:30 pm in H-hall (including the main theatre) and the parking lot behind H-hall. This event is open to the public, but we'd like to make sure that all VVHS science students have the opportunity to attend.
Class of 2012: There will be a meeting in Mrs. Wells room F210 on Wednesday during lunch.
Juniors, are you interested in becoming a doctor? The UNM BA/MD program will be visiting Volcano Vista High School on Thursday, April 5th at 1:00. Please see Mrs. Futey in room E224 today during lunch if you are interested in learning more information about this program.
Volcano Vista is hosting a Blood Drive on Saturday April 14th from 10 to 2. Sign ups are by appointment only so please visit the ROTC conference room during lunch to lock in your time.

Senate will be starting a fundraiser for Mel Phipps' family beginning Wednesday in your 5th period class to help his family with medical expenses.

- Baseball plays Cibola today at 4 PM at Cibola.
- Softball plays Cleveland today at 4 PM on our home field.
