Subject: RE: [californiadisasters] Wildfire - LA Co. / ANF - Powerhousefolks who control the Castic Lake said NO to the pilots wanting to use the lake as a dip site, same thing happend in
arrowhead few years ago..the folks that control the water in lake arrowhead ( forgot who it was now ) said no to
dipping out of the lake.. and the fire was less then 5 min away,, ( i was on scanner when this went over ) and the pilots
could not beleve they were denined access so they had to use big bear which was a 15 min turn around time..
Joann ,- unknown what water soure if any they are using now..

update this fire is a bear for the ffs, ( acreage over 3,00 / the water that they are using is not helping , air attack wants to use foam on the ground to try to stop this fire.. there are 2 dc 10s on this fire.. along with 4 other air tankers , they are on load and return fast as they can.
talk on scanner is more evacuations but i dont know where yet.. ash is falling on the kern side of the grape vine.. helicopters are working on the north side now . / ffs are trying to keep the fire from crossing over the lake hughes side on the North flank.. but it may do it anyway according to scanner talk..

The CuddyCam shows more of the central dense smoke overcast: http://www.frazmtn.com/cuddycam/This satellite loop http://sat.wrh.noaa.gov/satellite/satloop.php?wfo=lox&type=vis&size=1 also shows a tremendous explosion of smoke this afternoon.Nice one's Lin!The Castaic Lake webcam shows a very dark smokey overcast. A check of satellite imagery shows no clouds there so that is just the smoke.
