Description:
The Marple Fire began along Interstate-5 northbound north of Castaic where the two directions of the freeway run separate and opposite of normal. The area in between was burned out and the freeway jumped. This fire destroyed several outbuildings, damaged one home, and two Los Angeles County FD crew buggies were destroyed to go with 21,300 acres charred. For a time, I-5 was shut down by this fire.
