RE: [Geology2] Fwd: CNN Breaking News

That’s another healthy shake.  I’m finding it difficult to believe that there isn’t an action/reaction trigger from the plates between New Zealand to Japan.  That’s some MAJOR shaking in the past year(ish).  While some energy is released, there HAS to be a transfer of tension to another place; it’s not physically possible to release it all since it’s a slip/slide, not an outward pop.

To explain what I mean, put your hands together with enough pressure that they don’t quite slip when you slide them.  Then slide your hands so that you can feel various parts of your hand slip.  There is remaining tension on other parts of your hand and each part will slip according to the tension (pressure) on that area.  Once your fingers slip, your palms have more tension etc.  The only time there is no more tension is if everything slips at once or you pull your hands apart (an outward release).

I’m glad the tsunami warning was dropped; I’ve been trying to work a ‘DXpedition’ on Spratly Island (south China Sea) and would presume that they’re operating on the beach.  That could have been really ugly for them.  So far I’ve heard them this morning but haven’t gotten through the mass of others trying.

Time to switch to Kenyan coffee I guess Vic.  BTW; www.ravensbrew.com try the ‘Wicked Wolf” blend.  Their low acid (for tender tummy) is actually drinkable too.  You’ll want to read through their (tongue in cheek) advertising too “Dead Man’s Reach: Potent enough to wake the dead”; “Three Peckered Billy Goat:”  you figger it out.  ;o)
