2012: Gusty winds associated with a cold front forced the Electric Daisy Carnival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to end early around 12:40 AM halting DJ sets and forcing 90,000 attendees to leave the field.
Sustained winds of 33 mph with gusts to 41 mph were reported at nearby Nellis Air Force Base.

1999:
Vallejo had a low temperature of 44
° F.

1990:  Remnants of Hurricane Boris produced rain and thunderstorms across San Diego County starting on 6/9 and ending on this day.
Boris began as a tropical wave off the coast of Africa on 20 May and spent two weeks drifting across the Atlantic/East Pacific before developing into a hurricane in early June off the west coast of Mexico.
Its remnants single-handedly produced the wettest June in San Diego since records began in 1850.
The two-day (and monthly) rainfall total was 0.87".
0.37" fell in 30 minutes.
0.49" fell on this day, the wettest calendar day in June on record.
Storm totals also included 1.41" at Mt. Laguna, 0.98" at Escondido (the greatest daily amount on record for June), and 0.87" at Fallbrook.

1990:
0.82" of rain was recorded at McCarran International Airport (Las Vegas, NV).
This was the greatest official rainfall amount recorded in Las Vegas in June.
A 25-year-old woman drowns after her car is swept into a flood channel, and a 19-year-old man drowns in Green Valley, where he is swept into a manhole during a storm that drops 1.57" of rain in an hour.

1979: Five consecutive days of high temperatures at 90° F or higher at San Diego started on 6.9 and ended on 6.13, peaking with 101° F on this day, which also is the highest temperature on record for June.
This was one of only two days in June that readings of 100° F or more have been reached (6.16.1981).
Minimum temperatures were between 69° F and 72° F.

1976: Hanford received 0.51" of rain, the second greatest amount to fall on a calendar day in June in the city.
Fresno measured 0.37" of rain, setting a daily precipitation record..

1976: It was 44° F in Palm Springs, the lowest temperature on record for June.

1964: It was 28° F at Palomar Mountain, the lowest temperature on record for June.
This also occurred on 6.1.1967.

1932: A storm drenches Boulder City, NV, killing two and submerging a 100-foot wide swath of Eldorado Valley under 5 feet of water.

Note: No precip has ever been recorded on this date in Yuma, AZ.
