2015: Low pressure leaving Washington on Oct. 2 arrived this day and through the 6th afflicted the greater metropolitan Las Vegas. NV, Area.
Over the course of the period October 4-6. 2016, there were 23 warnings issued with 45 different reports of flash flooding or severe weather.
Hail was observed in several places across the region, with the largest hail measuring 1.25" just east of Boulder City, Nevada.
Finally, abundant moisture through the lower and mid levels of the atmosphere indicated a primed atmosphere for flash flooding.
Flash flooding occurred as a result of heavy thunderstorms over western portions of the Las Vegas valley several hours after this sounding was observed.

The most extensive damage took place at Callville Bay, Nevada in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area where a torrent of water and mud up to 10 feet high swept through pushing two buildings 150 feet...uplifting docks and concrete blocks and damaging several boats and personal watercraft.

2011: Thunderstorm-induced flashflooding swept areas of the Las Vegas Valley with up to 1" of rain falling between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Several cars became stranded in rapidly rising waters at the intersection of Jimmy Durante Blvd. and Tropicana Ave.
Clark County Swift Water Rescue Team helped drivers from their cars.
2010: On the night of the 3rd, and into the early morning hours of the 4th, quite a few thunderstorms developed over the Hanford and Visalia areas, and spread northward into Fresno, Madera, and Mariposa.
Lightning was quite frequent with these storms, and large hail about the size of half dollars (1.25") was reported near Mariposa around 1:00 AM on the 4th.
Flooding and debris were reported on the west side of Yosemite Valley.

In all preliminary reports describe this flash flood as damaging at least one third of Callville Bay with damages totaling at least one million dollars.

2.95" of rain fell at San Diego, the third greatest daily amount on record and the greatest daily amount on record for October.
3.24" of rain fell starting on this day and ending on 10/5, the greatest 24-hour amount on record for October.
Chula Vista set a daily record for October with 2.88".
Palm Springs felt the brunt of this rain storm as well, receiving 2.75" of rain, making it not only the wettest October day in history, but also the wettest October month on record.
